Long before FIRE + WATER became a brand, I understood what it meant to make people feel welcome. That started in my grandmother’s home. She was the heart of it all. The kind of woman who made people feel cared for the moment they walked in the door. She taught me that hospitality is not just about what is served. It is about how people feel in your presence.

Watching her was about more than cooking. It was about intention, generosity, warmth and pride. She knew how to create an atmosphere that made people want to stay, gather, laugh and come back. That stayed with me.

Growing up around Soul Food, traditions shaped my palate, but it was the spirit of hospitality that shaped my purpose. I learned early that creating experience is about more than flavor alone. It is about connection. It is about making people feel seen, welcome and celebrated.

With over 20 years in events and hospitality, I have carried those values into every space I enter. Whether I am curating a brunch pop-up, catering a private event, or building something more intimate and elevated, my goal is always the same: to create an experience that feels, thoughtful, beautiful and full of heart.
